score.
Credit repair can be a little challenging to those who aren't familiar
with the different terms and laws that govern credit for the
consumer. One of the reasons we do have laws to dictate the basic
rules is due to the many abuses to the system.
The credit industry in general was setup to allow companies to
try and access the credit worthiness of individuals by creating a
record keeping system. As in many good concepts, the original
goals were a good idea but many took advantage of all the ways to
scam the system.
Congress got in the scenario after so many consumers complained
about the unfair practices and problems with granting or obtaining
credit. In 1970 Congress passed the Fair Credit Reporting Act
which is meant to insure fair practices by companies who keep
credit information on individual consumers.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act has been amended several times to
adjust for changes in the marketplace since 1970. Based on our
current financial mess with mortgages, maybe they should go back
and review some of the aspects of the act. Of course the major
portion of the blame falls on so many that I doubt it would have
stopped the madness since it was largely based in individual greed
rather than credit reporting.
Like any law passed by Congress, the Fair Credit Reporting Act
can get a little confusing for most of the general public. The
first time most people read the document, it's easy to get lost in
the many different rules and regulations. Once you read the
document, you will quickly see why many are confused.
In our Free Credit Repair Kit we tried to simplify the process
for anyone to understand. You get a step by step method that gives
you the details you need without all the confusing language. There
is also a two page summary of the important points for any credit
repair project. Here's a table of contents and list of information
and items:
• Introduction
• Credit Bureaus–What You Need To Know
• Your Credit Score–What It Is

• Supplement Reading - 2 Page Summary of Fair Credit Reporting
Act
• Summary
The kit provides all the forms and timelines for disputes,
adding good credit, and other important documents. It explains in
and easy to understand method on how to interrupt your credit
report and address any inaccurate information.
It is important to realize that due to the timelines and the
huge amount of data involved that it does take some time to
complete the process. Now that you can do many of the tasks online
it is much quicker but the credit bureaus receive 1000's of
inquiries and correspondence daily, so a little patients is
necessary.
Many people get frustrated with the credit repair process, it
is somewhat tedious and requires some effort on the individual to
wade through the paperwork. But it is more than worth the effort,
especially if you plan any large purchase that you will be
applying for credit. Houses, large remodeling projects, home
improvements, cars, and expensive appliances that you will seek
credit for a long term purchase will be impacted by your credit
score.
And given our tight credit policies in today's current
marketplace, any improvement in your credit score can make a
considerable difference in the interest rate you pay. It can literarily
mean 1000's of dollars over the period of the loan. It's a good
idea to start your credit repair project at least 30-60 days
before you apply for any credit due to the time restraints
involved.
So check out our Free Credit Repair Kit (click on the item
below to look at the online or download the PDF). Even if you
decide to use a service or Credit Repair company, the more you
know the better off you'll be in the process. Your credit report
and in turn your credit score can save you money or cost you
money.
