OK, so you have a little
(or maybe not so little) problem with your credit score. All is not lost, but
you will have to dedicate some effort and time to “fix your credit". Keep in
mind that it took more than 30 days to screw it up, so please be patient in your credit repair efforts.
Please read this entire document before you start.
The good news
is that credit, like current events, continues to move forward.
Anyone can improve their credit score over time. The key element
is that the latest information has the biggest impact. Even if you
have a less than impressive payment record or other problems, if
you start to demonstrate a some positive information and clean up
your old issues your credit score will improve.
In our
current downward financial market, it is imperative for you to get
your act together and deal with any credit issues. Getting credit
it one thing, but getting the lowest cost credit is even more
important. Right now the going good credit score is 720 and above
(in the recent past a 680 or 700 was good).
There’s a lot of jargon
and information you need to absorb to start your credit repair plan. This is not brain
surgery but you do need to adhere to some basics in order to accomplish your
goal of a higher credit score.
The idea behind this credit
repair guide is to ease the way and hopefully save you some time,
effort, and pain in working on your credit score. All of these suggestions were
provided by users of our website, www.newcleancredit.com,
or even experts in the loan and mortgage business.
We are a huge fan of the
KISS Philosophy (Keep It Simple Stupid) and have learned by trial and error
what works, and what doesn’t. We gave up banging our head against a brick wall
years ago. It doesn’t help your credit repair efforts and you get a soft head =8~).
All of the information
and methods outlined and recommend in this publication have worked for others,
and will work for you too. There are always alternatives and each chapter deals
with different methods or information.
Please keep in mind that
this is a very opinionated resource. The information is provided as is and is
based on personal experience of the submitting resource. Some may not apply to
your situation, some might require something you don’t have (like available
cash or people who will help).
There are both step-by-step
instructions and recommendations. You will need to apply these basics to your
individual needs. Most are self-explanatory and can easily be adapted to what
ever your credit repair situation dictates.
You might
also want to review the 2 page summary of The Fair Credit
Reporting Act in the supplemental reading appendix (there is a
link below). This is a quick list of high points in the law that
will help you understand your rights the obligations of the credit
bureaus.
There is also the
personal responsibility factor. You have to realize that you did get yourself
in to this mess and now you need to deal with it. There are ways that you can
speed up the process, get better results, and save your self some money too.
But it will take some effort and time on your part.
If you have any
suggestions to recommend, please don’t hesitate to contact us at comments@newcleancredit.com. We
like to provide as much information as we can and can use any help we can get.
This is a free resource and you can pass it on to anyone as long as you don’t
change any information or remove our copyright and information.
